About us – Biohabitability

BIOHABITA! is a cooperative of architects that works on biohabitability to achieve healthy architectural environments and we develop our work in 3 areas: we carry out advisory tasks to achieve healthy architectural environments, we measure the physical parameters that define a healthy environment and we carry out training activities to transmit the way to make our architectural environment healthy.

We have the official recognition of the Spanish Institute of Baubiologie (IEB) as a consultancy in Bioconstruction. Baubiology is the science that studies the global relationships of living organisms (biology) with our residential and work built environment (construction) including all the new technologies that are used in it.

We have the legal constitution of a Catalan Limited Professional Cooperative Society of Associated Work, non-profit.

As a cooperative we promote the values ​​on which we were founded: mutual aid, responsibility, democracy, equality, fairness and solidarity. We believe in the ethical values ​​of honesty, transparency, social responsibility and concern for people and the environment. We are characterized by putting people at the center and promoting more democratic and participatory forms of organization.

In our projects we always use materials and technologies that are responsible for the health of people and the environment (energy efficiency, renewable energies, environmental sustainability, natural materials free of toxins, biocompatible systems, local and responsible consumption, promotion of green and biodiversity, zero waste objective, treatment of rainwater, gray and residual water, lighting and acoustic comfort, etc.)

We are Teresa Monleón Fernández, Joan Cuevas Pareras and Carlos Sentmenat Bertrand, architects and masters in bioconstruction from the Institut für Baubiologie + Nachhaltigkeit (IBN)-Institut Español de Baubiologie (IEB)-Universitat de Lleida (UdL). Carlos Sentmenat Bertrand is also a specialist in measuring fields, waves, radiation and other pollutants from the IBN.

Pere Cañadas Torres, technical architect, masters in bioconstruction and specialist in baubiology measurements. She is a collaborating partner for the Girona area.
