Do all bulbs have the same light quality?

BULBS COMPARATIVE MEASUREMENT (on a health basis)

Five different bulbs were measured:

  • Incandescent
  • Halogen
  • Halogen
  • LED filament bulb
  • CFL (compact fluorescent light)

The following factors included in SBM-2015 were measured:

  • Altern electric fields
  • Altern magnetic fields
  • Light spectrum
  • Flickering

In the incandescent and halogen bulbs the values for light spectrum and flickering were good. For the LED filament bulb these aspects are nearly as good.

On the other hand, the CFL has the worst values for all the aspects measured.

It must be said that one should not extrapolate the conclusions for this single measurement into all the bulb types and most of all this applies for the LED since this technology is going through a very fast growth and variety.
