MEASUREMENT OF FIELDS AND WAVES IN A GROUND-FLOOR APARTMENT IN POBLENOU

Measurement of fields and waves in a ground-floor apartment on a passageway in Poblenou, Barcelona.

WHAT VALUES DID WE FIND?

Regarding electromagnetic waves, the values are extreme (12,000 μW/m²).

Regarding alternating electric fields measured using the free-body (free of potential) method, we found high values (9.1 V/m) due to the absence of an earth/ground connection.

WHAT VALUES SHOULD WE HAVE?

Electromagnetic waves: we should be below 10 μW/m², and ideally below 0.1 μW/m².

Alternating electric fields: we should be below 1.5 V/m, and ideally below 0.3 V/m.

WHAT MEASURES WILL BE TAKEN?

For electromagnetic waves, first the neighbors will be asked to switch off their sources of emissions, so that they can also become aware and benefit from the improvement. After that, we will assess whether shielding is necessary.

For alternating electric fields, we will work with the installer to reduce the fields in rest/sleep areas until acceptable values are achieved. A very important measure is installing a very low-resistance earth/ground connection.
