Acoustic sectorization for family living

Biohabita we have carried out an acoustic sectorization action in a home in Barcelona.
Two different units of the same family wanted a completely independent daily dynamic, each using a floor of the same duplex home. The objective was to acoustically separate the two floors by sectoring the current interior staircase, maintaining a connecting door.

DIVISIONS. A dry partition system has been executed with double plasterboard on each side and Geopannel acoustic insulation in the center, with an acoustic insulation capacity of 47 dBA for the entire complex. Comparatively, a 14.5 cm perforated brick wall (gero) trimmed or plastered on both sides has an insulation capacity of 44 dBA (CTE-Construction Elements Catalog).
DOOR. A door with acoustic features from the Barnatecno company, model PAB 47, has been installed, with an acoustic insulation capacity of 51.5 dBA.
The CTE DB HR requires 30 dBA for a door to protected areas and 20 dBA for a door to habitable areas.

WINDOW. Additionally, windows have been replaced to reduce the acoustic nuisance of a street that suffers from traffic noise due to the steep slope of the street and the passage of buses. According to the noise map of Barcelona, the street level Ld day is 65-70 dB, so the insulation level required for a bedroom (protected area) is 37 dBA.
The new windows have a sound insulation capacity of 45 dB (Rw).
