IMPROVE YOUR OFFICE: THERMAL COMFORT!
Do you know that thermal comfort is one of the main factors to determine our degree of satisfaction in the workspace?
What does thermal comfort mean?
At the thermal level there is a constant metabolic process of balance between the heat produced by our body and its dissipation to the environment.
If the environment has conditions compatible with those that mark the well-being of our body, then we have comfort and we do not affect our health.
Thermal comfort depends on 6 factors, the first 4 are related to the space where we are, the last two are personal*:
1. Air temperature
2. The temperature of the surfaces that surround us
3. The speed of air (inner air currents)
4. Moisture
5. Metabolic rate (the amount of energy we use in a given time span)
6. The type of clothing (yes, the clothes we wear!)
If there is no thermal comfort… How does it affect our health?
Thermal discomfort causes our body to react to adapt to the interior environment, often causing what is called metabolic stress and leading to discomfort, tiredness and unease.
Thermal comfort is one of the main factors to determine our degree of satisfaction in the workspace.
What is the objective we must pursue?
A thermal interior environment where the parameters that determine it are sufficiently stable and adapted to our metabolism so that our body needs a minimum amount of energy to adapt to the environment that surrounds it.
From Biohabita! we can help you:
To identify and implement strategies to achieve comfort, which involve both the selection of air conditioning systems, sun protection, etc. as well as the establishment of habits for users.
To begin with, we need to know what the thermal context of our workspace is like, measuring the surface and air temperature, relative humidity, air ionization and microbiology detection.
