Electro-pollution measurement of a home in Sant Gervasi (Barcelona)
Electro-pollution measurement and current state of a house in Sant Gervasi (Barcelona) to collect data for its integral reform.
The reference values follow the SBM2015 of the IBN, in the case of VOCs follow those of Kaiterra.
WHAT VALUES HAVE WE FOUND?
Regarding the alternating electric fields, measured with the potential-free method we have strong values: 5.1 V/m in a bedroom, due to the electrical installation of the neighbor.
As for alternating magnetic fields, we have weakly significant values: 38 nT, in one bedroom.
Regarding electromagnetic waves, we have strong values: 720 ‘W/m2 in a bedroom due to the proximity of mobile phone antennas.
Regarding continuous magnetic fields, we have strong values: deviation of 5.65 ‘T, to a bedroom due to a structural reinforcement of the building in the area where the bed head is located.
With regard to radioactivity, we have values that do not deserve any consideration: -17% increase in the rate of impulses in a bedroom.
WHAT VALUES SHOULD WE HAVE
Alternating electric fields: we should be below 1.5 V/m and ideally below 0.3 V/m.
Alternating magnetic fields: we should be below 100 nT and ideally below 20 nT.
Electromagnetic waves: we should be below 10 ‘W/m2 and ideally below 0.1 ‘W/m2.
Continuous magnetic fields: we should be below a 2 ‘T deviation and ideally below 1 ‘T.
Radioactivity: we should be below a 70% deviation from the background value and ideally below 50%.
RECOMMENDED MEASURES
Alternating electric fields: wall shielding in contact with neighbors, by an expert.
Electromagnetic waves: screening of bedrooms on their façade walls, by an expert.
Continuous magnetic fields: move the bed away from structural reinforcement.
