Barnahus for Sant Joan de Déu
Biohabita! we have carried out the preliminary pilot project of a Barnahus for Sant Joan de Déu.
Barnahus is the Nordic model of comprehensive care for children and adolescents who have witnessed or suffered abuse. It was born 25 years ago in Iceland. Barnahus is ‘children’s house’ in Icelandic.
Catalonia participates in the European Barnahus network.
This model gives a special importance to the space where care is provided.
It is a complex space that integrates all the professionals (doctors, psychologists, social workers, justice, etc.) who participate in the care of children and their families.
The objective has been the creation of a warm, bright and calm indoor environment.
In our case, this request has been processed through the treatment of the following parameters of well-being, comfort and health:
- Indoor air quality
- Light and lighting
- Thermal comfort
- Acoustic conditioning
- Electroclimate
- Psychology of space (biophilia)
